The group “DNA” was founded in 1994 at the Faculty of Science of Masaryk University as a purely vocal – or a cappella – group. So, we have no instruments and all you hear at our concerts are the sounds of the human body and our vocal cords. The original five members dispersed after graduation, therefore the group members soon changed. According to the song, we now perform as a five to six-member group. The band's repertoire is still expanding. We have already sung in many churches and chapels, balls, music clubs, festivals, castles, birthday parties, and other festive events such as book introductions and vernissages. At the beginning we sang Negro spirituals, which are still the basis of our repertoire, but today we have a program for almost every occasion; we also sing jazz standards and popular music, always with great joy and purely a cappella.
On Monday 3 November 2025, we will sing in the Great Ceremonial Hall of the Brno Central Cemetery, Brno, Czech Republic. The Memorial Concert is an opportunity for the Faculty of Medicine of the Masaryk University (FM MU) students and staff who had directly benefited from body donation to say thank you to donors and their families for their generous and altruistic donation.
On Monday 15 December 2025, we will sing at a Christmas party for the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute. This time, it will be a private event.
On Sunday 28 December 2025, our Christmas concert will take place in the chapter hall of the Benedictine Monastery in Rajhrad, Czech Republic.
On Friday 9 January 2026, our Christmas concert will take place in the beautiful premises of the Auction House Zezula in Brno-Pisárky.
On Sunday 4 October 2026, our concert “Let Freedom Ring” will take place for the tenth time in Kuřim, Czech Republic. The Dreamy Natural Accord (DNA) vocal group will perform, together with a guest (to be specified later).
The vocal group DNA was founded in 1994 by students of molecular biology and genetics at the Faculty of Science of the Masaryk University in Brno (Czech Republic). We have changed several members since 2004. Apart from our original repertoire, we now also sing jazz standards and popular music, always purely a cappella.
